Almost out of nowhere, Canadian noisy punk rock duo Death From Above (yep, they’ve recently officially dropped the 1979 from their name) have just unveiled a stream of their brand new single, ‘Freeze Me’, following it’s premiere on BBC Radio 1 earlier this week.
Regarding the name change, the band were initially meant to be called Death From Above when they originally formed back in 2001. However, due to legal reasons, which saw the two-piece receive a cease and desist letter filed against them by the label Death From Above Records, they changed their name accordingly.
You can listen to the song ‘Freeze Me’ in full below:
Though the band have explicitly said that there are no plans to put out a follow-up to 2014’s ‘The Physical World’ currently, they have assured fans that “it will not be 10 years” before we’ll hear a new Death From Above record.
Further news surrounding any forthcoming releases will be announced as and when they develop.
