WHAT THE BAND SAY:

DP!: How would you describe yourselves to someone who has never heard Greyhaven before?
Greyhaven: Big, arena rock music with a bit of a metal edge.

DP!: How did the band form?
Greyhaven: Sam and I knew each other from a previous band. One day he said that he was looking to be in a heavier band and I said I was looking for a singer. We did a bunch of demos and started looking for the rest of the band, who we found through mutual friends for the most part.

DP!: What plans do you have for the future?
Greyhaven: Lots and lots of shows. We’re making this year as busy as we can because we just love doing this so much. There’s also a few more music videos to come, maybe even some acoustic stuff. We love having the opportunity to rethink our songs and record them in a totally different way.

DP!: Which new bands are you listening to right now?
Greyhaven: Polaris from Australia are killing it at the moment, their latest record is sick. Casey and Holding Absence are very high on the playlist at the moment, we’re looking forward to seeing what they do next!

DP!: Which bands do you aspire to and why?
Greyhaven: Queen and Foo Fighters, I’d love to be able to do the stuff they’ve done. Not only with regard to playing shows, but the way that they write and record as well. There are quite a few good documentaries about them and I’d definitely recommend them if you want to feel inspired.

DP!: What’s the stand out moment in your career so far?
Greyhaven: We’ve had quite a few good ones like having our music on the radio, and TV as well. I definitely think the stand out moment for me though would be playing to a sold out crowd in London on our last tour with As Lions. It’s the first time we’d played a sold out show I think and it really was an incredible feeling.
