NEWS: Blink-182’s Manchester Arena show (July 14th 2017) cancelled!

Following the tragic events that unfolded at the Manchester Arena venue last month (May 22nd 2017), and the ongoing closure of the venue, pop-punk trio Blink-182 have been forced to cancel their forthcoming show at the Arena, which was set to take place on July 14th 2017.

The tour, which is set to run across the UK throughout July, is in support of the band’s latest studio full-length ‘California’, which got a deluxe edition re-release last month.

A statement released by the team at the Manchester Arena was posted on their official website, and also emailed to customers holding tickets to the show.

“Following last month’s tragic incident, and the subsequent temporary closure of the main area outside the venue, Manchester Arena has no other option than to cancel Blink-182’s forthcoming concert on Friday 14 July.

We apologise for not being able to stage this event and for the inconvenience caused to Blink-182’s Manchester fans.

The promoters have urged fans keep hold of their tickets while they discuss suitable alternatives with the band.

Fans will be contacted by their respective ticket agents with more information as soon as they have it. Please also keep an eye on Blink-182’s social accounts for more information.”

As detailed in the above statement, it appears that the band and the promoters involved with the show are looking to reschedule the show, potentially to another venue on the same day, or to a later date, as opposed to a full cancellation and a refund.

The venue’s operators are working towards a re-opening of the venue in early September, which will be more than three months after the attack. The next event in the arena’s schedule is a concert by singer/songwriter John Legend on September 16th 2017.

Other performances and concerts to be held at the venue before then, including Radiohead, have either been cancelled or rescheduled. At the time of writing, there’s no news surrounding Linkin Park‘s intended concert at the Manchester Arena on July 7th 2017.
