EXCLUSIVE AUDIO: Defences – With Might And Main (Album)

Hertfordshire based alt metal newcomers Defences have been on the touring circuit for a few years now, steadily building their fanbase and reputation. The band released their debut EP ‘Stitches In Sanity’ back in early 2014, and from that point have been performing across the UK to anyone and anywhere they can recruit more names and faces to their expanding following.

In 2015, we also featured the band’s track ‘Grow’ on our free-to-download compilation album, ‘Building Blocks: Volume Five’, a track which also managed to bring the band attention via the airwaves as it circulated on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio.

Fast-forward to 2017, and now the band are set to finally release their debut full-length album. Set to drop this Friday (May 26th 2017), the British troupe’s first full-length offering ‘With Might And Main’ was mixed by Jeff Juliano (Twenty One Pilots, PVRIS) and mastered by Tim Debney (Razorlight, Iron Maiden), and is primed to take the band to the next stages with their earworm hooks and metallic riff work.

The record’s title, a phrase meaning “with all one’s strength”, aptly summarises the meaning behind the collection of twelve songs it showcases, as well as the band’s mantra during the creation process.

We’ve teamed up with the five-piece to give you all an exclusive full stream of ‘With Might And Main’ ahead of its release, giving you the chance to hear it from back-to-front before anyone else. Give it a spin for yourself.

Speaking about the album and finally putting it all together, lead vocalist Cherry Duesbury explained to us, “This album is the product of years and years of hard work. It was tough, and there were times I wasn’t sure if it would ever be finished, but we did it, and I am so proud of the end result. We spent a lot of time really defining the kind of band we wanted to be and I feel ‘With Might And Main’ shows that growth. I’m excited for everyone to hear our creation. All the lyrics come from real experiences, opinions, and feelings, and I think everyone will be able to relate to at least something on the album.”

The band’s album, ‘With Might And Main’, is scheduled to see a release on May 26th 2017.

You can pre-order the release online now from their official website (here).
