TRACK-BY-TRACK: Loathe – Prepare Consume Proceed
June 30th, 2016
It has been proven on several occasions that sometimes maintaining an aura of mystery and an enigmatic persona can create just as much of a buzz as that of a band or act or deal all their cards on the table as and when they have them. This has certainly been the case for Loathe, a band who present themselves as an ambiguous entity far more than a collective of musicians, revealing only minimal aspects of their concept, which resolves largely around the act to consume.
Loathe are set to re-release their debut EP ‘Prepare Consume Proceed’ through their new home at Sharptone Records before appearances at UK Tech Fest and Knotfest this summer. So, we tried to pull out a bit more info on what the EP is all about.
01.) THE INEVITABLE
‘Prepare Consume Proceed’ begins toward its close. This issue’s protagonist faces an unknown terror. Whilst refusing to give in, the urge to fight and the thirst for life are not enough.
Rewind. Our protagonist, who shall be known from here as the lead, is tormented in sleep whilst a haunting figure looms overhead.
The lead is awake.
04.) IN DEATH
Our lead loses a loved one. We must realise that nothing can last forever.
05.) REST; IN VIOLENCE
A killer stalks his prey, handpicked for ultimate satisfaction. The target, our lead.
Proceeding from ‘The Inevitable’. In purgatory.
07.) SOLACE; IN SOIL
The lead endures an outer body experience, witnessing their lifeless body.
‘Prepare Consume Proceed’ is set for release on July 8th 2016 through Sharptone Records.
