NEWS: Joey Jordison (ex-Slipknot drummer) unveils new band, VIMIC!

After putting his project Scar The Martyr to rest, which became his primary focus following his departure from Slipknot back in late 2013, prolific metal drummer and songwriter Joey Jordison has announced news today of his brand new project. Jordison‘s new band, VIMIC, was born from the blueprint of Scar The Martyr, and the band are currently readying their debut LP, ‘Open Your Omen’, which is set to drop later this year through Roadrunner Records.

Speaking of the project and his aspirations for his music career going forward, Jordison explained, “I decided I wanted to start fresh. I did not want to keep rehashing old ideas. If I am going to keep going, I really just wanted to break loose and wipe the slate clean. So I renamed the band, and I got a new singer and a new keyboard player [plus] three other members from the Scar The Martyr line-up. We went down into the basement and started demoing material and everything started clicking.”

The band’s line-up stands as:
Joey Jordison – Drums/Percussion
Kalen Chase – Vocals
Kris Norris – Guitar/Vocals
Jed Simon – Guitar/Vocals
Kyle Konkiel – Bass/Vocals
Matt Tarach – Keyboards

At the time of writing, VIMIC is currently working on a timeline for the release of their aforementioned debut album, ‘Open Your Omen’, for which they demoed about 40 songs, which is expected to drop towards the end of the year via Roadrunner Records.

You can listen to the band’s debut single, ‘Simple Skeletons’, via the SiriusXM website (here).
