UK extreme metal legends Akercocke have confirmed that they have reunited, and are currently working on new material. The London based four piece have been inactive since 2011, and you can read a statement from the band below:
‘We have returned fuelled by positivity and a new collection of unique, challenging material. Akercocke’s raison d’etre has always been to try and develop our sound from one album to the next.
Presently we’re working on our sixth studio album, Renaissance In Extremis. Expect new atmospheres, musical diversity, the sublime and the ridiculous’.
The band will also play the main-stage at this years Bloodstock Festival.
Akercocke features founding frontman Jason Mendonca and drummer David Gray, alongside returning guitarist Paul Scanlan. Nathaniel Underwood completes the line-up.
