Japanese hard rock outfit X Japan have announced that they will be premiering their new documentary ‘We Are X’ at this year’s Sundance Festival. The festival, which will take place in the US on January 22, is being used as a platform to document the rise of one of Japan’s most successful rock exports:
The release of this documentary comes as the band prepare to release their new record – their first recorded material in 20 years – which will launch worldwide on March 12. This date is also when the band are due to make play at London’s SSE Wembley.
The film is produced by Passion Pictures’ John Battsek, producer of the 2013 BAFTA and Academy Award-winning feature documentary ‘Searching For Sugar Man’.
