After being subject to the tragic events that took place at their sold out headline show at The Bataclan venue in Paris last month (November 13th 2015), which was sieged and attacked by a group of terrorists who killed 89 attendees, Californian rockers Eagles Of Death Metal returned to France’s capital city last night (December 7th 2015) and performed two songs after being invited on stage by U2 during their set at the AccorHotels Arena. You can find fan-shot video performances of the two songs – ‘People Have The Power’ and ‘I Love You All The Time’ – embedded below:
Whilst on the stage, frontman Jesse Hughes said “We love you so much for giving us this opportunity. I look around and see all my friends. I will never stop loving you.”
In a recent interview with Vice following the tragic incidents, Hughes vowed that the band would return to The Bataclan, and wish to be the first band to perform there when it reopens, declaring “Our friends went there to see rock ‘n’ roll, and died. I’m going to go back there and live.”
The band’s latest full-length record, ‘Zipper Down’, is available now through Downtown Recordings.
