NEWS: Blitz Kids announce farewell UK shows this October!

blitzkids2015

After announcing their break-up a couple of weeks ago, British pop-rockers Blitz Kids have confirmed details of what will be the band’s final two shows to take place this October. You can read the band’s farewell statement in full, along with more information regarding their final shows together below:

“I don’t want to talk in clich├ęs or metaphor, so I’m just going to come straight out with it. It is with heavy hearts but heads held high that we must announce it is time for us to take our leave.

We have always said that we are friends, first and foremost, before a band. And it is as friends that we have reached this decision to end this incredible adventure that we started 8 years ago. Between then and now, this band has taken us to beautiful places that we’d never have experienced without it, and introduced us to people who we consider family and friends for life.

We’ve worked with some amazingly passionate and extremely tolerant people during our time as a band. They showed faith in us when we doubted ourselves, and gave us a chance when we perhaps didn’t deserve one. We are eternally indebted to every single one of you.

But none of what we have achieved together would have been possible without you, the fans. We’ve gone from playing to the sound guy and his mates at pubs in Nantwich, to going on tour with our favourite bands, and stepping out on festival stages that we only dreamed of playing as kids growing up. You have taken us on the journey of a lifetime, and we will always love you.

We’re sorry, but the upcoming tour has been cancelled, and tickets will be refunded. We will be playing some farewell shows that will be announced soon. We hope to see you there to celebrate what have surely been the best years of our lives.

So long, and thanks for all the beers.

Never die.

Jono, Joe, Nic and Matt.

x”
