They Say Fall

DP!: You’ve managed to stay within the top 5 bands for all three weeks of the public voting stages, which is a massive achievement. Did you ever expect this when you entered?
TSF: Never in a million years. We joined the competition a few days late, so we couldn’t imagine ever reaching the top 100, let a lone being first for two weeks running. We’ve been completely blown away by the level of support that we’ve received.

DP!: As a celebration of this achievement, do you guys have anything planned personally or something that you’re going to offer to the fans?
TSF: We’re actually in the process of planning a ton of stuff to celebrate. Firstly, we released our most recent EP ‘Enigma’, as well as pretty much everything we’ve ever released for free download over at our BandCamp (here), and then we’re planning a massive free hometown show this summer too that’ll feature other bands from the competition.

DP!: The next stage is the judging panel, how do you think you’re going to fair against the competition?
TSF: There are some phenomenal bands in the shortlist and they all deserve to go far and achieve greatness. We’re like a little fish in an endless ocean, but we wholeheartedly believe we have something special, something that stands out, and we hope the judges believe that too. We’re incredibly passionate about what we do, and combining that with the support and backing of all of our friends creates a force that can’t be stopped.

DP!: You’ve managed to stay within the top 5 bands for all three weeks of the public voting stages, which is a massive achievement. Did you ever expect this when you entered?
BITS: We never imagined we’d actually have a chance. We thought we’d enter and give it a good go, but didn’t think we’d be in the top 100, nevermind the top 5.

DP!: The next stage is the judging panel, how do you think you’re going to fair against the competition?
BITS: There’s so much hard competition this year. Adelphia are a solid band and have been battling places with us since day one, our hometown boys in Clear The Auditorium, Oceans Apart, Brookland Terrace and Giving Into Ghosts all fair a good chance. Hopefully we’ll fare well against the other bands as we have ‘Out Of Sight’, which is a mix of genres, and really rounds us up as a band.

DP!: Out of the judges who are taking part this year, who do you think is going to dig you guys and your music the most?
BITS: We hope the Broco boys will dig our tunes. We feel that our music has bounciness to it similar to Broco, but in a different vain.

Quantana

MUSIC VIDEO: Love Is Lost (watch)

DP!: You’ve managed to crack your way into the top 5 spot in the public voting process on its final week, knocking off a few competitors. How does it feel to be up there?
Q: We’re all overwhelmed by the support we received. We never even considered we would reach the top 40, let alone the top 5 since we entered on the 14th, two weeks after most of the other bands. So, we’re all very surprised, but extremely ecstatic.

DP!: You’re going to be new to a lot of people, how would you best describe your sound?
Q: With influences like Killswitch Engage, Five Finger Death Punch and Alter Bridge, people can expect a new blend of riffs that hit you like a punch to the gut, ferocious and melodic vocals all kept together behind a machine tight bass and drum. Stuff that will get any metal lovers’ head banging and in the pit.

DP!: Have you got any final words for our readers?
Q: We would just like to thank Red Bull Studios for this opportunity and all of the people who have voted for us in the initial stage. There’ll be more of the same if we get through to the next round, and we will hopefully see you at Download.

Adelphia

MUSIC VIDEO: Lost At Sea (watch)

DP!: You’ve managed to stay within the top 5 bands for all three weeks of the public voting stages, which is a massive achievement. Did you ever expect this when you entered?
A: We had no idea we would receive this much support, and it feels like such a reward knowing we have so many people backing our band.

DP!: Out of the judges who are taking part this year, who do you think is going to dig you guys and your music the most?
A: We’re fans of Don Broco and it’s a similar sound that we get compared to regularly, so they might dig us with a bit of luck.

DP!: Do you have any final words for the readers and your fans?
A: Just a massive “Thank you so much” to everyone that’s helping us make this happen. It’s a huge reward and satisfying feeling to know people are liking what we’re doing enough to go out of their way for us.

MUSIC VIDEO: Giants (watch)

DP!: You’ve managed to crack your way into the top 5 spot in the public voting process on its final week, knocking off a few competitors. How does it feel to be up there?
TCIO: It was an insane feeling, though I must admit we all felt a little drained after watching that timer count down and wondering where we’d end up in the final 100. It was great to see how our fans and everyone who supports us joined together to help us hopefully achieve one of our lifetime goals.

DP!: Can you give us a brief history into how you guys have formed and come to be where you are today?
TCIO: Myself, our drummer Conor and vocalist Victoria were in a previous band. When that folded, we decided not to give up and made a stylistic change from our previous efforts. We wrote and recorded an EP before we even really had a band, but our sound wasn’t really born until we were joined by Nat on bass and George on guitar. It really gave us a new dynamic and opportunity to progress our sound.

DP!: Do you have any shows coming up soon where people can come along and check out what you’re all about?
TCIO: We have our release show for our EP the day that Red Bull Studios decide their final 15, at Scorpio’s Bar in High Wycombe. It’s a hometown show for us, so fingers crossed we’ll be able to hit that stage on a huge high, knowing that we’re one step closer to Download. We also have a fair few local shows booked up so anybody who wants to see or hear the band, all of our shows on our Facebook and MusicGlue pages.

With the final week of the public voting stage now over this year, the next step is the top 100 bands being overlooked by a judging panel composed of industry experts. They will decide out of the many bands involved in this year’s opportunity will make the cut into the final 15. These will go on to perform at this year’s Download Festival, along with many other great perks.

You can get involved with this year’s Red Bull Studios Live at Download opportunity and check out and vote for your favourite band by heading over to the website (here).
